Play. Create. Write. Perform.
Spend part of your summer making music. Elvis Music Shop's small-group summer music programs give young musicians the opportunity to play, create, collaborate and explore songwriting in a fun, hands-on environment.
Program details are announced each spring. Here's what we can share about our next summer session so far.
Let us know and we'll send you details as soon as they're available.
Our summer music programs are built around doing — not just sitting and listening. Students explore musical ideas through real playing, creating and collaborating, with instructors guiding them along the way.
Explore instruments and strengthen musical skills.
Discover how melodies, rhythms and ideas can become songs.
Experiment with digital composition and music technology.
Play alongside other young musicians and learn how individual parts come together.
Build confidence by putting new skills into action.
It's a summer spent making music with other kids who love it too.
Ask About ProgramsWhile students are creating, playing and experimenting, our instructors naturally introduce the musical concepts that make it all possible. The learning happens through making music.
Explore Our Music LessonsSummer programs may vary from year to year and may be designed for different ages and experience levels. Here are some of the students who tend to get the most out of our summer music programs.
Looking for something a little different to do with music during the summer.
Kids who want to know how songs are actually put together and want to try writing their own.
Students ready to play alongside other young musicians instead of practicing alone.
Students interested in creating their own music, including digital composition.
Anyone who enjoys music and wants a deeper experience than a traditional summer activity.
Tell us about your child and we'll help you figure out which program might work best.
Ask Us
Elvis Music Shop intentionally keeps its summer music programs small. That means instructors can work directly with every student, and every student has meaningful opportunities to participate — not sit on the sidelines.
Our previous summer programs were designed for no more than six students at a time. It's a very different experience from a large, general-purpose summer camp, and it's a big part of why students make real progress with us.
Every program is a little different, but a day of summer music camp often flows something like this — a mix of playing, learning, creating and collaborating.
Get hands on an instrument right away and settle into the day with sound.
Pick up a new idea — a chord, a rhythm, a theory concept — in an approachable, playful way.
Apply what you just learned directly to your instrument so it actually sticks.
Experiment with digital composition and music technology to bring ideas to life.
Bring it all together with the group through collaborative playing and band rehearsal.
Exact activities and schedules vary by program and by year. Examples from past programs have included piano lab, songwriting exercises, music theory games and application, digital composition, collaborative playing and band rehearsal.
Elvis Music Shop's summer programs are designed for students who genuinely want to explore music. We want kids to have fun, make friends and enjoy their summer — but we also want them to leave having created something, learned something and grown as musicians.
Elvis Music Shop's teaching team brings backgrounds in music education, performance, audio engineering, theatre, classical music, jazz, contemporary music and other disciplines. Your child learns from people who have actually made music — and who genuinely enjoy teaching kids.
Meet Our Instructors
Our summer programs continue to evolve based on our students, their interests and what families are looking for. Here's a look at some of the music experiences we've offered in previous summers.
Elvis Music Shop developed small-group summer songwriting and music programs built around playing, creating and collaborating. Historical program concepts included a Beginner Songwriting Summer Camp and an Advanced Music Summer Camp, which included improvisation and songwriting for musicians with previous experience.
Summer program details can change from year to year. Tell us a little about your child and we'll help you determine whether an upcoming program may be a good fit.
